Music Agent

Add missing parts to your arrangement

Have a partially arranged piece with a set tempo and chord progression? Bovo Music Agent can help you create the missing instrument parts. In Stem Mode, choose piano, bass, drums, guitar, or another layer, enter your musical settings, and generate takes to audition alongside your existing tracks. Download editable MIDI or WAV and keep shaping the arrangement in your DAW.

When Music Agent can help

Use Music Agent when you know the musical context but want ideas for a missing part: a bass foundation under your chords, piano or guitar accompaniment, a drum groove, or a pad behind a melody. You direct the style and feel, compare alternatives, and choose what belongs in the piece.

Stem Mode generates new, short instrument parts. It does not separate instruments from an existing mixed recording. This workflow uses the tempo, meter, key, and chords you enter; you audition the result against your existing arrangement in your DAW. Several stems are generated independently, so matching their settings is a starting point, and listening to them together is part of the process.

Start with your tempo and chords

Choose a section and the missing parts

Work on one short section at a time. Choose Loop for a repeating idea or Passage for a section with an ending or key change, then set its length from 1–8 bars. Select only the instrument parts you need and start with one or two takes per stem.

Enter the musical settings

Set BPM and meter to match your DAW session. For pitched parts, enter the key and chord progression, including where chord changes fall within each bar. Drums use tempo and meter but do not need key or chords. Use the same settings for parts intended for the same section.

Describe the feel

Give the musical direction a genre or style and one broad feel. Leave room for different rhythms, voicings, and phrases. The selected stem types already identify the parts to generate; name a sound family when useful, such as upright or 808 bass.

Example: add piano and bass

Suppose your arrangement already has a melody and drums, but needs piano accompaniment and a bass part. This is an example setup you can adapt to your own piece; it is not a published generated result.

Musical settings

Select Piano and 808/Bass, with two takes each. Choose a four-bar Loop at 92 BPM in 4/4 and C major. Enter one chord per bar: Dm7, G7, Cmaj7, A7.

Musical direction

Warm acoustic jazz with a spacious feel and upright bass.

Generate the takes and listen to each. Compare the piano and bass combinations against your melody and drums. If a part is too busy, select that take and ask for one targeted change, such as “Make the piano accompaniment less busy. Keep the chords.” For a different idea, open New take instead. The Prompt Guide explains variations and the available kinds of edits.

Hear the parts in your arrangement

Download the chosen takes as MIDI or WAV and place them at the intended section in your DAW. Check their entrances, chord changes, register, groove, and space around the parts you already wrote. Revise or regenerate anything that does not serve the piece.

MIDI preserves human-like expressive timing and velocities and lets you change notes, voicing, or instruments. Its playback sound depends on the instrument you choose in your DAW. WAV exports are 24-bit PCM stereo at 48 kHz and carry the rendered performance you auditioned, including its sound and effects. A loop’s WAV may include a natural tail; check the transition when repeating it.

Watch the workflow

Bovo’s published walkthroughs show the actual setup and export steps. Build a guitar, bass and drum trio demonstrates an eight-bar setup at 92 BPM. Custom chords in D-flat major shows chord entry, including two changes in one bar.
